New 1928 design!
Once again we are able to exclusively bring you
a picture of a new Clarice Cliff design!
Sitting on a shelf in an English home full of flowers
a few weeks ago, the owner now knows to keep it clean and out of the reach
of their two young daughters! They were delighted to discover when they
contacted the C.C.C.C. that they have a unique design, which we
have called Square Balloons.

The pattern is on an early Wilkinson’s spill vase
shape and the large Bizarre backstamp suggests a 1928 date for its production.
Outlined in brown it features the square flowers
found on Geometric Garden, but clearly it pre-dates that and is
a very early variation of Original Bizarre. The squares are in orange,
rust, blue and green and the design is startlingly simple, and reminiscent
of the minimalist style. |
