Amazing Discoveries!

Once again we have found new pieces which add to the diversity and variety of Clarice’s work!

A new shape recently discovered in New Zealand is a candlestick. It is known from the picture of Scott's Hotel in Melbourne in Art of Bizarre but this is the first time we have found an actual example.

Scoots Hotel candlestick.

It seems to be a shape not related to any of the standard Clarice Cliff ones, and is decorated in Wheat. The pattern and the picture of Scott's Hotel suggests the shape was issued in 1935. We have called it the Candelabra shape.

Sungold Chick Cocoa pot.

The next discovery is one of Clarice’s Chick Cocoa pots decorated in the Sungold pattern from 1935! Although this shape has been seen in Coral Firs, this is the first time an example decorated in an abstract geometric has been recorded.

Orange V Stamford teaset.

The most amazing teaset we have discovered recently is courtesy of an Australian member of the C.C.C.C. The very simply coloured Orange V design is transformed when it is found on a Stamford set as shown!

Diamond Sails pattern.

Another amazing pattern discovery has also been made by the same Australian CCCC Member on an old 1928 shape. This pattern has been called Diamond Sails.

Many thanks to our Members for these pictures ~ you know who you are!
